Ellen Nowak is vice president of regulatory and government affairs for ATC and former Commissioner of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. Nowak was first appointed to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission by Governor Scott Walker. Nowak also served in the Walker administration as the Secretary of the Department of Administration. Prior to that service, Nowak served as chief of staff to Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas, legal counsel and chief of staff to the Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, and deputy director of School Choice Wisconsin. She also served in private practice at Mallery & Zimmerman SC.
Nowak serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and is the President of the Mid-America Regulatory Conference (MARC). Ellen serves on the board of The World Orphan Fund and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Whitburn Center for Governance and Policy Research.
Ellen has a law degree from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
