Government Affairs
Jim Steineke is the Badger Institute’s daily, influential presence in the Capitol advancing meaningful, common-sense policy reforms.
Steineke served in the State legislature for nearly 12 years. Steineke was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2010, rising to leadership in just his second term. He spent the last 4 terms of his tenure in the legislature as the Majority Leader, which allowed him the opportunity to build critical relationships in both houses and with leaders across the country. In the legislature, Steineke worked on a wide variety of issues while also assisting members with their own. His background in business combined with his relationships in the legislature is an invaluable asset to the government affairs team at the Badger Institute.
